Prophet Shuayb was sent by Allah to the people of Midian. Known as “the eloquent among the prophets,” he was gifted with a clear and compelling message. His people were skilled traders; their markets were lively, their goods abundant, but their hearts had narrowed under the weight of greed. Cheating in measurement, manipulating scales, deceiving customers, and burdening people with unjust debts had become common practice. Shuayb, peace be upon him, taught them monotheism as well as economic justice — reminding them that true faith is reflected in both worship and daily transactions. Yet many among his people viewed his call as a threat to their interests.
