The earliest generations born from Adam and Eve were still learning what it meant to build a family, work the land, and share its blessings. Abel and Cain, though sons of the same parents, grew with hearts inclined in very different directions. One was close to sincerity and God-consciousness, while the other tended to follow the whispers of his own desires. Allah willed to test the truth of their intentions through an offering. This trial would not only reveal whose gift would be accepted, but would also mark the beginning of humanity’s first jealousy and the first murder.
