Yet among the people were those who longed for their old pagan customs and waited for an opportunity to revive them. With Samiri’s deceit, a calf made of gold was fashioned, and a dangerous movement grew around it. Aaron’s test emerged at this very moment — shaped by patience, wisdom, and calm restraint.
