Ali ibn Abi Talib accepted Islam at a very young age. He was both the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet ﷺ, as well as one of his closest companions. To describe him only through his sword would be incomplete; his heart carried deep submission, his tongue carried wisdom, and his demeanor was marked by serenity and dignity. From Badr to the Battle of the Trench, he stood at the front lines—yet he never attributed victory to himself, always to Allah. His *ḥilm*—the calm, merciful restraint that swallows anger—was as famous as his bravery. His life was a living commentary on what it means to be “strong yet capable of forgiving.”
