The event of *Ashab al-Fil* took place shortly before the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It tells of a mighty army that marched to destroy the Kaaba and was annihilated by the command of Allah. Abraha, the governor of Yemen, built a grand church in Sana’a, hoping to divert pilgrims from the Kaaba to his structure. But when he failed to redirect people’s hearts, anger drove him to a drastic plan: destroy the Kaaba itself. He prepared a massive army supported by elephants — a symbol of power in that era. Yet Allah destined this march to become a sign for all time: how a force built on arrogance can be shattered by the smallest of creatures.
