The owners of the garden were a family blessed with fertile land that produced abundant harvest every year. Their father used to invite the poor on harvest day and considered giving them a share of the crops an act of worship. Over time, however, his children began to see this sharing as a “loss.” Greed and worldly desire crept into their hearts. When their father passed away and the garden became theirs, their first plan was to stop giving the poor their rightful share. Allah tested them—both in their wealth and in the hidden intentions of their hearts.
