The Passing of Abdullah and the Child Who Was Orphaned Before Birth

Today you know Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a protector and companion of the orphans, but before he became that, he himself tasted a deep orphanhood. His father, Abdullah, passed away before he ever opened his eyes to this world. The warm winds of Mecca carried the story of a young father’s final journey and the trusts he left behind. Amina, carrying her child, and Abdulmuttalib, with an aging heart, received the news. It marked the beginning of the first great trial in the life of Allah’s Messenger.
